Statement of Faith
The statement of faith adopted by Campbell County Christian Academy and described below is limited to primary Christian doctrine which is considered to be central to all Christian denominations and which sets Christianity apart from all faiths. The following statement of faith is taken directly from the Campbell County Christian Academy bylaws:
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord. Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and was born of a virgin, Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. On the third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From Heaven He shall come to earth again to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, one holy Christian church, the communion of all true saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the gift of everlasting life. ~ The Apostles Creed
On God
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Governor of everything that has been made. (Genesis 1:1; Exodus 20:2- 3; Isaiah 43:1, 7, 21; Revelation 4:11, 5:9-10)
On Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (Luke 1:34-35; John 1:1,14; 3:16-18; 5:17- 30, 36-47; Acts 1:9-11;
2:22-36)
On the Holy Spirit
We believe in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in those who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He bears witness with our Spirit that we are children of God and joint heirs with Christ. He helps our weaknesses and makes intercession for us. (Romans 8:9-11, 16-17, 26)
On the Holy Scriptures
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God, and as such it is the final authoritative rule for faith, life, and standards of education. (Psalm 119:160; John 16:13; 2 Timothy 3:14-17)
On Salvation
We believe that, because of Adam’s sin all mankind is in rebellion against God. For the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary. Salvation is by grace through faith alone, and faith without works is dead. (Romans 5:8, 12-21; 8:1-11; 2 Corinthians 5:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9; James 2:18-26)
On the Resurrection
We believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead after three days. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved to the resurrection of life, and those who are lost to the resurrection of damnation. (Matthew 28:1-10; Mark 16:1-20; Luke 24:1-12; John 20:1-31; Revelation 20:11-15)
On the Church
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:42-47)
On Man
We believe the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. (1 Corinthians 6:20; Revelation 22:3-5)

Our Team
Pre-K: Nancy Frye
I was born and raised in Kingsport, graduated from high school, and UT Knoxville. I married in 1973, worked for a tiny newspaper, then a nursing home activities coordinator.
My husband was transferred to North Carolina where I became assistant to the assistant editor of the little paper there. Finally, after 14 years of trying, we had a daughter. So I was “Mommy” until she began kindergarten in Campbell County.
I substituted for preschool at CACC and was hired for kindergarten. I worked a couple summers and one year to get certified.
I taught my heart out until CACC closed. I am elated to be back.
Kindergarten: Freda Branam
1st Grade: Megan Russell
2nd Grade: Tammy Lay
I began my career in teaching as a firsts grade teacher, worked as a Reading Recovery Teacher, Literacy Leader, Assistant Principal and Elementary Education Supervisor with 30 years of educational experience. My husband, Rick, and I have been married 37 years and have one son. Zachary. My family and I currently attend the Lafollette Presbyterian Church, where I have been a member for 37 years. I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and expanding my knowledge of crocheting, cross stitching, and crafting. What a joy that God has opened the door for me to return to the classroom and guide my students in learning of God’s precious gifts for them now and in the future. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10) I am blessed and privileged to answer God’s call to serve as the second grade teacher at Campbell county Christian Academy.
3rd Grade: Jennifer Arbo
4th Grade: Joan Crutchfield
My name is Joan Crutchfield, and I am very proud to be a Campbell County Christian Academy fourth grade teacher. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Lincoln Memorial University and my Masters in Education Administration from Tennessee Technological University. I am certified to teach Pre-K thru grade 8 and certified in Administration and Supervision in Pre-K thru grad 12. I began my teaching career at West LaFollette Elementary and later moved to Jacksboro Elementary. At both schools I taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades. While at Jacksboro Elementary, I served as the principal for almost six years.
My husband, Dwight, and I have lived in the LaFollette area our entire life. We have one daughter and son-in-law, Alisa and Casey. We enjoy spending time with them playing and watching sports and having family meals. I also enjoy reading, water aerobics, and playing pickleball with family and friends.
Many years ago at Coolidge First Baptist Church I gave my life to Jesus Christ and was baptized there also. Teaching is a passion and a calling for me. It is so much more than a job. I am humbled and honored to be teaching fourth grade and will do my best to promote a learning environment that encourages and promotes learning for all my students.
Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” KJV
